About the artist
John Sutton is a singer-songwriter and longtime road musician whose sound lives somewhere between the Tennessee River and the beach. Blending Americana, roots rock, reggae, blues, soul and country, John has spent decades performing across the Southeast and Midwest, building a following around energetic shows, original songs and a laid-back musical personality that doesn’t worry much about genre lines.
Originally rooted in West Tennessee, Sutton describes himself as a “beach bum wannabe,” an influence that’s increasingly easy to hear in his music. His catalog stretches across multiple albums, including Tennessee Mud and Higher Ground, while newer releases such as “Wait No More,” “Take Me Back,” and “The World” continue moving his sound toward a mix of roots, Americana and coastal music.
