Jimmy Miller

About the artist

Jimmy Miller was raised in the Florida panhandle playing the southeast Bluegrass circuit.  His taste changed to Country music, and he purchased his first pedal steel guitar at age 21.  He played steel in local bands. Then he formed his own very successful band, and performed throughout the south, opening for major country acts.

In 1996, Jimmy, along with other steel guitar players formed the Southeastern Steel Guitar Association.  This led to opportunities to perform in other steel guitar shows for the next decade.  In 2007, he became technical and musical director for The Spanish Trail Playhouse Theatre in Chipley, Florida.  He produced, directed, and performed in over 40 shows until 2021.

In 2019, he began to perform and tour with Nashville and Texas artists which led to the decision to move to the Nashville area. Some of the festivals he has played include The Key West Songwriters Festival,
Gatlinburg Songwriters Festival and The Island Hopper Songwriters Festival.  He continues to work with artists and songwriters in the Nashville area which have led him to be in demand as an accompanist playing dobro.  Looking forward to being at Blast on the Bay for another year!
